Ingredients

200 grams kefalotyri cheese
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
lemon wedges
black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. 1 Cut the kefalotyri cheese into slices about 1 cm thick.
  2. 2 Dredge each cheese slice in flour, ensuring it is evenly coated on all sides.
  3. 3 Heat the olive oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  4. 4 Once the oil is hot, add the floured cheese slices to the pan.
  5. 5 Fry the cheese for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. 6 Remove the cheese from the pan and place on a plate lined with paper towels to drain any excess oil.
  7. 7 Serve immediately with lemon wedges on the side and a sprinkle of black pepper.

Tips

For a more authentic taste, use a traditional Greek cheese like kefalograviera if kefalotyri is unavailable.
