| 1 cup | sajja flour (pearl millet flour) |
| 1 cup | water |
| — | salt to taste |
| — | ghee or oil for cooking |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, combine sajja flour and salt.
- 2 Gradually add water to the flour, mixing continuously to form a soft dough.
- 3 Divide the dough into small lemon-sized balls.
- 4 Flatten each ball between your palms to form a thick disc or use a rolling pin to roll out into a circle, about 5-6 inches in diameter.
- 5 Heat a tawa or flat pan over medium heat.
- 6 Place the rolled roti on the hot tawa.
- 7 Cook on one side until small bubbles form, then flip it over.
- 8 Apply a little ghee or oil around the edges and cook until both sides are golden brown and cooked through.
- 9 Repeat with the remaining dough balls.
- 10 Serve hot with chutney or curry of your choice.
Tips
Ensure the dough is soft and pliable for easy rolling. Adjust water as needed.
