Ingredients
| 1 cup | semolina (rava) |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 2 cups | water |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 10-12 | cashew nuts |
| 10-12 | raisins |
| 1 pinch | saffron strands |
| 1 pinch | salt |
Instructions
- 1 Heat ghee in a pan and roast the cashew nuts and raisins until golden. Remove and set aside.
- 2 In the same pan, add semolina and roast on low flame until it turns aromatic and light golden. Remove from heat.
- 3 In a separate pot, bring water to a boil.
- 4 Add sugar, cardamom powder, saffron strands, and a pinch of salt to the boiling water. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 5 Gradually add the roasted semolina to the boiling sugar syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 6 Cook on low flame until the semolina absorbs all the water and thickens.
- 7 Add the roasted cashew nuts and raisins to the mixture and mix well.
- 8 Cover and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Tips
For a richer taste, you can add a little more ghee while cooking.
