Ingredients
| 2 cups | rice flour |
| 1 cup | sesame seeds |
| 1 tablespoon | ajwain seeds |
| 1 teaspoon | salt |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili powder |
| 1 cup | water |
| 500 ml | oil for deep frying |
Instructions
- 1 In a large mixing bowl, combine rice flour, sesame seeds, ajwain seeds, salt, and red chili powder.
- 2 Gradually add water to the dry ingredients, mixing well to form a smooth, pliable dough.
- 3 Divide the dough into small portions and roll each portion into a thin, long rope.
- 4 Shape each rope into a spiral or coil, pressing the ends to secure.
- 5 Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- 6 Once the oil is hot, carefully slide in the sakinalu, a few at a time.
- 7 Fry until they turn golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally.
- 8 Remove from oil and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 9 Serve warm or store in an airtight container once cooled.
Tips
Ensure the dough is not too soft to maintain the shape of sakinalu while frying.
