Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
1/4 cup water
200 grams ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. 1 In a bowl, mix the flour and salt. Add the vegetable oil and mix until crumbly.
  2. 2 Gradually add water and knead into a smooth dough. Cover and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  3. 3 In a pan, heat a tablespoon of oil and sauté the onions until translucent.
  4. 4 Add the garlic and sauté for another minute.
  5. 5 Add the ground beef, cumin, coriander, turmeric, black pepper, and salt. Cook until the beef is browned.
  6. 6 Stir in the fresh coriander and remove from heat. Let it cool slightly.
  7. 7 Divide the dough into small balls and roll each into thin circles.
  8. 8 Place a spoonful of the beef mixture on one half of each circle. Fold over and seal the edges with a little water.
  9. 9 Heat oil in a deep pan and fry the samboosas until golden brown and crispy.
  10. 10 Drain on paper towels and serve hot.

Tips

Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy texture.
