Ingredients
| 1 cup | rice flour |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 cup | grated coconut |
| 1 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 1 pinch | salt |
| 2 cups | water |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
Instructions
- 1 In a pan, bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
- 2 Gradually add the rice flour to the boiling water, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 3 Cook the mixture until it forms a dough-like consistency.
- 4 Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- 5 In another pan, melt the jaggery with a little water to form a syrup.
- 6 Add the grated coconut and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup and cook until the mixture thickens slightly.
- 7 Divide the rice flour dough into small balls and flatten them into discs.
- 8 Place a spoonful of the coconut-jaggery filling in the center of each disc and fold it to seal the edges, forming a semi-circle or dumpling shape.
- 9 Steam the dumplings for about 10-15 minutes until cooked through.
- 10 Brush the steamed dumplings with ghee before serving.
Tips
Ensure the rice flour dough is smooth and free of lumps for best results.
