Ingredients

2 cups rice flour
1 cup water
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon oil

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large mixing bowl, combine rice flour and salt.
  2. 2 Gradually add water to the rice flour, mixing continuously to form a smooth dough.
  3. 3 Knead the dough well until it becomes soft and pliable.
  4. 4 Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls.
  5. 5 Heat a tawa or flat griddle over medium heat.
  6. 6 Take one dough ball and flatten it slightly with your hands.
  7. 7 Place the flattened dough on the tawa and gently press it with your fingers to spread it into a thin circle.
  8. 8 Drizzle a few drops of oil around the bhakri.
  9. 9 Cook on one side until it develops light brown spots, then flip and cook the other side.
  10. 10 Remove from the tawa and repeat with the remaining dough balls.

Tips

Serve hot with coconut chutney or curry for an authentic Konkani experience.
