Ingredients
| 1 cup | whole wheat flour |
| 1/2 cup | ghee |
| 1/2 cup | jaggery |
| 1 tablespoon | poppy seeds |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
Instructions
- 1 Heat ghee in a heavy-bottomed pan on low heat.
- 2 Add whole wheat flour to the ghee and roast it on low flame, stirring continuously until it turns golden brown and releases a nutty aroma.
- 3 In a separate pan, melt the jaggery with a tablespoon of water on low heat until it dissolves completely. Do not overheat.
- 4 Once the flour is roasted, add the melted jaggery to the pan, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 5 Add cardamom powder and poppy seeds, and mix well.
- 6 Pour the mixture into a greased plate or tray and spread it evenly.
- 7 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into squares or diamond shapes while still warm.
- 8 Let the pieces cool completely before serving.
Tips
Ensure that the jaggery is just melted and not overheated to prevent crystallization.
