Ingredients

Turkey Berry 1 cup Turkey Berry , sundried
tamarind paste 1 tablespoon Tamarind paste
Mustard Seed 1 teaspoon Mustard Seed
Cumin 1 teaspoon Cumin , seeds
oil 1 tablespoon Oil
asafoetida 1 pinch Asafoetida
turmeric powder 1 teaspoon Turmeric powder
red chili powder 1 teaspoon Red chili powder
water 1 cup Water
salt to taste Salt
jaggery 2 tablespoons Jaggery
Cilantro 1 tablespoon Cilantro , freshly chopped

Instructions

  1. 1 Wash the sundakai thoroughly and crush them slightly to remove seeds.
  2. 2 Heat oil in a pan and add mustard seeds. Let them splutter.
  3. 3 Add cumin seeds and asafoetida, and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. 4 Add the crushed sundakai and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  5. 5 Mix in the turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  6. 6 Add tamarind paste and water, and bring the mixture to a boil.
  7. 7 Reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10 minutes.
  8. 8 Add jaggery and stir until it dissolves completely.
  9. 9 Garnish with freshly chopped coriander leaves before serving.

Tips

Adjust the amount of jaggery and tamarind to balance the sour and sweet flavors according to your taste.
