Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk
1 large egg
2 tbsp sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup red bean paste (anko)
vegetable oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
  2. 2 In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
  3. 3 Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
  4. 4 Preheat a taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly brush with vegetable oil.
  5. 5 Pour a small amount of batter into each fish-shaped mold, filling it halfway.
  6. 6 Add a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each mold.
  7. 7 Cover the red bean paste with more batter until each mold is full.
  8. 8 Close the taiyaki pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
  9. 9 Carefully remove the taiyaki from the pan and serve warm.

Tips

For a crispy texture, ensure the pan is well-heated before adding the batter.
