Ingredients
| 1 cup | all-purpose flour |
| 1 tsp | baking powder |
| 1 cup | milk |
| 1 large | egg |
| 2 tbsp | sugar |
| 1 tsp | vanilla extract |
| 1 cup | red bean paste (anko) |
| — | vegetable oil for brushing |
Instructions
- 1 In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder.
- 2 In another bowl, mix the milk, egg, sugar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- 3 Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until smooth.
- 4 Preheat a taiyaki pan over medium heat and lightly brush with vegetable oil.
- 5 Pour a small amount of batter into each fish-shaped mold, filling it halfway.
- 6 Add a spoonful of red bean paste in the center of each mold.
- 7 Cover the red bean paste with more batter until each mold is full.
- 8 Close the taiyaki pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.
- 9 Carefully remove the taiyaki from the pan and serve warm.
Tips
For a crispy texture, ensure the pan is well-heated before adding the batter.
