Ingredients

1 cup jasmine rice
1.5 cups water
pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. 1 Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
  2. 2 In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and a pinch of salt.
  3. 3 Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
  4. 4 Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
  5. 5 Let the rice simmer for 15-18 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
  6. 6 Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5-10 minutes to allow the rice to finish steaming.
  7. 7 Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.

Tips

For a more aromatic flavor, add a pandan leaf or a few drops of jasmine essence while cooking.
