Ingredients
| 1 cup | jasmine rice |
| 1.5 cups | water |
| — | pinch of salt |
Instructions
- 1 Rinse the jasmine rice under cold water until the water runs clear to remove excess starch.
- 2 In a medium saucepan, combine the rinsed rice, water, and a pinch of salt.
- 3 Bring the water to a gentle boil over medium-high heat.
- 4 Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and cover the saucepan with a tight-fitting lid.
- 5 Let the rice simmer for 15-18 minutes until all the water is absorbed.
- 6 Remove the saucepan from heat and let it sit, covered, for 5-10 minutes to allow the rice to finish steaming.
- 7 Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving.
Tips
For a more aromatic flavor, add a pandan leaf or a few drops of jasmine essence while cooking.
