Ingredients
| 1/2 cup | white vinegar |
| 1/2 cup | water |
| 1/2 cup | sugar |
| 2 tablespoons | fish sauce |
| 1 tablespoon | soy sauce |
| 2 cloves | garlic, minced |
| 1 teaspoon | red chili flakes |
| 1 tablespoon | cornstarch |
Instructions
- 1 In a small saucepan, combine the vinegar, water, sugar, fish sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and chili flakes.
- 2 Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3 In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with 2 tablespoons of water to create a slurry.
- 4 Slowly add the cornstarch slurry to the saucepan, stirring constantly.
- 5 Continue to cook the sauce for another 2-3 minutes until it thickens.
- 6 Remove from heat and let the sauce cool before serving.
Tips
Adjust the amount of chili flakes to your preferred level of spiciness.
