Ingredients

1 cup tikhur (arrowroot powder)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
2 tablespoons ghee
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
10-12 cashew nuts
10-12 almonds
1 tablespoon raisins

Instructions

  1. 1 Grease a plate or tray with a little ghee and set aside.
  2. 2 In a pan, dry roast the cashew nuts and almonds until golden brown, then chop them roughly.
  3. 3 In the same pan, add ghee and roast the tikhur (arrowroot powder) on low heat until it turns aromatic, about 5-7 minutes.
  4. 4 In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water, and bring it to a boil to form a one-string consistency syrup.
  5. 5 Add the roasted tikhur to the sugar syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
  6. 6 Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  7. 7 Add cardamom powder, roasted nuts, and raisins, and mix well.
  8. 8 Pour the mixture onto the greased plate and spread it evenly.
  9. 9 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into desired shapes.

Tips

Ensure constant stirring while cooking the tikhur mixture to prevent lumps and achieve a smooth texture.
