Ingredients
| 1 cup | tikhur (arrowroot powder) |
| 1 cup | sugar |
| 1 cup | water |
| 2 tablespoons | ghee |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| 10-12 | cashew nuts |
| 10-12 | almonds |
| 1 tablespoon | raisins |
Instructions
- 1 Grease a plate or tray with a little ghee and set aside.
- 2 In a pan, dry roast the cashew nuts and almonds until golden brown, then chop them roughly.
- 3 In the same pan, add ghee and roast the tikhur (arrowroot powder) on low heat until it turns aromatic, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4 In a separate saucepan, combine sugar and water, and bring it to a boil to form a one-string consistency syrup.
- 5 Add the roasted tikhur to the sugar syrup, stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 6 Cook the mixture on low heat, stirring constantly until it thickens and starts leaving the sides of the pan.
- 7 Add cardamom powder, roasted nuts, and raisins, and mix well.
- 8 Pour the mixture onto the greased plate and spread it evenly.
- 9 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into desired shapes.
Tips
Ensure constant stirring while cooking the tikhur mixture to prevent lumps and achieve a smooth texture.
