Ingredients
| 1 cup | sesame seeds |
| 1 cup | jaggery |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
| — | water as needed |
Instructions
- 1 Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan on low heat until they are golden brown and aromatic. Set aside to cool.
- 2 In the same pan, add ghee and jaggery with a little water. Cook on low heat until the jaggery melts completely and forms a thick syrup.
- 3 Add cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup and mix well.
- 4 Add the roasted sesame seeds to the jaggery syrup and stir quickly to combine.
- 5 Grease a plate or tray with ghee and pour the sesame-jaggery mixture onto it.
- 6 Flatten the mixture evenly using a spatula or the back of a spoon.
- 7 Allow it to cool slightly, then cut into squares or diamond shapes while it is still warm.
- 8 Let the Til Barfi cool completely before serving.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery syrup is thick enough to hold the barfi together once cooled.
