Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sesame seeds
1/4 cup ghee
1/4 cup powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon cardamom powder
salt to taste
water as needed

Instructions

  1. 1 In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, sesame seeds, and salt.
  2. 2 Heat ghee until melted and add it to the flour mixture.
  3. 3 Mix well until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs.
  4. 4 Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead into a firm dough.
  5. 5 Cover the dough and let it rest for 10 minutes.
  6. 6 Divide the dough into small balls and roll each ball into a thin disc.
  7. 7 Heat a tawa or griddle on medium heat.
  8. 8 Cook each disc on the tawa until golden brown spots appear on both sides.
  9. 9 Remove from heat and let them cool slightly.
  10. 10 Sprinkle powdered sugar and cardamom powder over the cooked papdis.
  11. 11 Serve warm or at room temperature.

Tips

Ensure the dough is firm to get crispy papdis. Adjust sugar to taste.
