Ingredients
| 1 cup | sesame seeds |
| 1/2 cup | jaggery |
| 1/4 cup | peanuts |
| 1/4 cup | desiccated coconut |
| 1 tablespoon | ghee |
| 1/4 teaspoon | cardamom powder |
Instructions
- 1 Dry roast the sesame seeds in a pan on low flame until they start to pop and turn golden. Remove and set aside.
- 2 In the same pan, dry roast the peanuts until they are golden. Allow them to cool, then remove the skins and coarsely crush them.
- 3 Dry roast the desiccated coconut until it is light golden. Set aside.
- 4 In a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee and jaggery. Cook on low heat until the jaggery melts completely and becomes a smooth syrup.
- 5 Add the roasted sesame seeds, crushed peanuts, roasted coconut, and cardamom powder to the jaggery syrup. Mix well until all ingredients are combined.
- 6 Remove the mixture from heat and let it cool slightly until it is safe to handle.
- 7 Grease your palms with a little ghee and shape the mixture into small, round ladoos.
- 8 Allow the ladoos to cool completely and set before serving.
Tips
Ensure the jaggery syrup is not overcooked as it will harden quickly, making it difficult to shape the ladoos.
