Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup warm water

Instructions

  1. 1 In a large bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt.
  2. 2 Add the vegetable oil to the dry ingredients and mix well.
  3. 3 Gradually add warm water to the mixture, stirring continuously to form a soft dough.
  4. 4 Knead the dough for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. 5 Cover the dough with a damp cloth and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  6. 6 Divide the dough into 4 equal portions and roll each portion into a ball.
  7. 7 Flatten each ball into a disc and roll it into a spiral shape.
  8. 8 Place the spiraled dough pieces on a steamer lined with parchment paper.
  9. 9 Steam the Tingmo for 15-20 minutes until they are puffed and cooked through.
  10. 10 Serve warm with your choice of curry or stew.

Tips

Ensure the water in the steamer is boiling before placing the Tingmo to steam for best results.
