Ingredients
| 2 tablespoons | loose-leaf black tea |
| 3 cups | water |
| 1 cup | boiling water |
Instructions
- 1 Fill the bottom kettle of a Turkish tea set (çaydanlık) with 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
- 2 Place 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea in the top teapot of the çaydanlık.
- 3 Once the water in the bottom kettle is boiling, pour 1 cup of the boiling water over the tea leaves in the top teapot.
- 4 Place the top teapot on the bottom kettle and let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes on low heat.
- 5 To serve, pour the strong tea from the top teapot into a small tea glass, filling it about a third of the way.
- 6 Top up the glass with hot water from the bottom kettle to achieve your desired strength.
- 7 Serve with sugar cubes on the side, if desired.
Tips
For a more authentic experience, use a çaydanlık (Turkish tea kettle) and serve in small, tulip-shaped glasses.
