3 cups water
1 cup boiling water

Instructions

  1. 1 Fill the bottom kettle of a Turkish tea set (çaydanlık) with 3 cups of water and bring it to a boil.
  2. 2 Place 2 tablespoons of loose-leaf black tea in the top teapot of the çaydanlık.
  3. 3 Once the water in the bottom kettle is boiling, pour 1 cup of the boiling water over the tea leaves in the top teapot.
  4. 4 Place the top teapot on the bottom kettle and let the tea steep for about 10-15 minutes on low heat.
  5. 5 To serve, pour the strong tea from the top teapot into a small tea glass, filling it about a third of the way.

  7. 7 Serve with sugar cubes on the side, if desired.
