Ingredients

1 cup | Puffed Rice |

2 tablespoons | Oil |
|
1 teaspoon | Mustard Seed |
|
1 teaspoon | Cumin , seeds |
|
1 tablespoon | Chana dal |
|
1 tablespoon | Urad dal |
|
2 units | Green Chili , slit |
|
1 unit | Onion , finely chopped |
|
1 pinch | Turmeric powder |
|
1 unit | Lemon , juiced |
|
— | Salt , to taste |
|
2 tablespoons | Cilantro , chopped |
|
1 handful | Peanut , roasted |
Instructions
- 1 Soak the puffed rice in water for about 2-3 minutes until soft. Drain and set aside.
- 2 Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 3 Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds; let them splutter.
- 4 Add chana dal and urad dal; sauté until golden brown.
- 5 Add slit green chilies and chopped onions; sauté until onions turn translucent.
- 6 Add a pinch of turmeric powder and mix well.
- 7 Add the soaked and drained puffed rice to the pan.
- 8 Add salt to taste and mix everything gently.
- 9 Squeeze the juice of one lemon over the mixture and stir well.
- 10 Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and roasted peanuts before serving.
Tips
For a spicier version, add more green chilies or a pinch of red chili powder.
