1 medium | Carrot , grated |
|
1/2 cup | Breadcrumb |

1/4 cup | Onion , finely chopped |

2 cloves | Garlic , minced |

1 tablespoon | Soy sauce |

1 teaspoon | Cumin , ground |

1 teaspoon | Paprika |
|
1/2 teaspoon | Salt |

1/4 teaspoon | Black Pepper , to taste |

2 tablespoons | Olive oil |

Instructions
- 1 In a large bowl, mash the cooked black beans with a fork until mostly smooth.
- 2 Add the cooked quinoa, grated carrot, breadcrumbs, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the mashed beans.
- 3 Stir in the soy sauce, ground cumin, paprika, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- 4 Divide the mixture into 2-3 portions and shape each into a patty.
- 5 Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- 6 Cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and heated through.
- 7 Toast the burger buns lightly in the skillet or in a toaster.
- 8 Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on the bottom half of each bun.
- 9 Top with lettuce, sliced tomato, sliced onion, and your choice of ketchup or mustard.
- 10 Place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve immediately.
Tips
For added flavor, try adding a pinch of smoked paprika or a splash of hot sauce to the patty mixture.
